Barrel & Action – Cold-Hammer-Forged Precision
We cold-hammer-forge every T3x Hunter barrel to deliver consistent sub-MOA accuracy across 100 rounds or 1,000. This manufacturing process compresses the steel around a mandrel, creating a bore that’s smoother and more concentric than traditional button-rifled barrels. The result is tighter groups, less fouling, and a barrel that maintains zero through rapid temperature swings.
Our controlled-round-feed bolt locks up in the receiver with three locking lugs for strength and a short 70-degree bolt lift. The bolt body is machined from a single piece of steel and runs on dual guide rails, so cycling is smooth even when you’re wearing gloves or working the action under pressure. We’ve also widened the ejection port on the T3x platform to make single-loading easier and to clear spent cases reliably in freezing conditions.
Stock Design & Ergonomics
The T3x Hunter wears a classic synthetic stock with a straight comb and moderate palm swell that fits a wide range of shooters. We mold the stock from glass-fiber-reinforced polymer that won’t warp in wet weather or crack in sub-zero temperatures. The textured grip panels and fore-end give you solid purchase even with wet hands.
Length of pull is 13.5 inches, which works well for most adults wearing light to medium layers. The recoil pad is a soft rubber compound that soaks up felt recoil without adding bulk. The T3x Hunter receiver is drilled and tapped to accept Tikka Optilock rings, which mount directly to the receiver without a separate base. Optilock rings are available in low, medium, and high heights to accommodate objective lenses from 32mm to 56mm.
You can also use any Remington 700 short-action or long-action scope base (depending on your caliber) with standard Weaver or Picatinny rings. Popular options include Talley lightweight rings, Leupold PRW bases, and Nightforce steel bases for heavy-recoiling magnums.
The T3x trigger is user-adjustable from 2 to 4 pounds using a 3mm hex key. Remove the stock by loosening the front and rear action screws, then locate the adjustment screw on the front face of the trigger unit inside the trigger guard.
Turning the screw clockwise increases pull weight; counterclockwise decreases it. Make small adjustments (1/8 turn at a time), then test with an unloaded rifle and a trigger pull gauge.
