Tikka T1x Rimfire Rifle | Precision .22 LR Bolt-Action Platform
We built the T1x to deliver the same legendary accuracy our centerfire rifles are known for—in a dedicated rimfire platform. This isn’t an adaptation; it’s a purpose-built .22 LR bolt-action engineered from the ground up for precision shooters, small-game hunters, and training enthusiasts who demand more from their rimfire.
Our cold-hammer-forged barrel and robust bolt design translate to consistent sub-MOA performance with quality ammunition. The T1x shares the same synthetic stock geometry and metalwork quality as our T3x centerfire line, so your muscle memory and shooting fundamentals transfer seamlessly between platforms.
Whether you’re logging high-volume practice sessions, introducing new shooters to bolt-action fundamentals, or pursuing squirrels and rabbits in the field, the T1x offers the accuracy, reliability, and handling you’ve come to expect from Tikka—at a fraction of centerfire ammunition cost.
- Cold-hammer-forged 350mm (16-inch) or 510mm (20-inch) barrel for match-grade accuracy
- Single-shot and 10-round magazine configurations available
- Adjustable trigger (2–4 lbs) with crisp break and short reset
- Modular synthetic stock with interchangeable pistol grips
- Steel receiver with integral 11mm dovetail and Picatinny rail compatibility
Barrel & Accuracy Engineering

Every T1x barrel is cold-hammer-forged from a single steel blank—the same process we use on our centerfire competition rifles. This manufacturing method produces a bore with exceptional concentricity and a surface finish that minimizes fouling while maximizing velocity consistency.
Our 350mm (16-inch) variant balances handling speed with ballistic performance, making it ideal for training drills, suppressed shooting, and mobile hunting applications where maneuverability matters. The 510mm (20-inch) option maximizes .22 LR velocity and extends effective range for precision target work and small-game hunting at distance.
Bolt System & Feeding Reliability

The T1x bolt is a scaled rimfire adaptation of our T3x centerfire design, featuring dual extractors and a robust plunger ejector that handles everything from subsonic rounds to high-velocity hollowpoints without hesitation.
We offer both single-shot and 10-round detachable magazine configurations. The single-shot variant uses a removable adapter that sits flush in the magazine well—perfect for precision benchrest work or jurisdictions with capacity restrictions. The 10-round steel magazine locks positively and feeds reliably even when fully loaded, thanks to our anti-tilt follower design.
Stock Design & Ergonomics

We designed the T1x stock around the same geometry as our T3x centerfire rifles, so grip angle, cheek weld, and length of pull feel instantly familiar if you already shoot our centerfires. This consistency accelerates skill transfer between platforms—perfect for cost-effective training.
The modular synthetic construction features interchangeable pistol grips, allowing you to customize hand positioning for your build and shooting style. Textured grip panels and fore-end surfaces provide secure purchase in wet or cold conditions, while the matte finish eliminates glare.

What people are saying
Tikka T1x Buyer Questions
The 350mm (16-inch) barrel optimizes handling speed, suppressed shooting, and mobile hunting applications. It generates approximately 1,050–1,150 fps with standard-velocity .22 LR, making it ideal for subsonic loads and compact setups.
The 510mm (20-inch) barrel maximizes velocity (1,200–1,280 fps with high-velocity ammunition) and extends effective range for precision target work beyond 100 yards. If you prioritize absolute accuracy at distance or compete in rimfire benchrest disciplines, the longer barrel delivers measurable ballistic advantages.
Yes. The T1x receiver uses the same mounting hole pattern as our T3x centerfire rifles, so Picatinny-style bases and rings are fully cross-compatible. This interchangeability simplifies optics swaps and allows you to maintain consistent zero across multiple rifles in your safe.
The T1x also features an 11mm dovetail for direct mounting of rimfire-specific rings if you prefer a lower-profile setup. Both mounting systems coexist on the same receiver.
Our testing shows best results with match-grade loads like CCI Standard Velocity, Eley Target, SK Rifle Match, and Lapua Center-X. These cartridges typically produce 0.5–0.8 MOA groups at 50 yards from a benchrest.
The T1x will also shoot bulk ammunition reliably—expect 1.5–2 MOA with Winchester Super-X or Federal Champion. We recommend testing 4–5 different loads through your specific rifle to identify which lot number your barrel prefers, as rimfire ammunition demonstrates significant batch-to-batch variation.
We offer both configurations. The magazine-fed variant ships with a 10-round detachable steel magazine and is available in all barrel lengths. The single-shot version uses a removable magazine well adapter that sits flush with the stock, creating a clean single-feed port for precision benchrest shooting or compliance with capacity-restricted jurisdictions.
You can purchase the magazine-well adapter separately and convert a magazine-fed T1x to single-shot operation if your needs change.
Yes. The T1x trigger is user-adjustable between 2 and 4 pounds using a hex key and the adjustment screw located inside the trigger guard. Detailed instructions are included in the owner’s manual.
We ship rifles set at approximately 3 pounds—a safe, versatile weight for both target shooting and hunting. Competitors often dial down to 2–2.5 pounds for precision work, while field hunters may prefer 3.5–4 pounds for cold-weather glove use and dynamic shooting scenarios.
Three engineering decisions drive our accuracy advantage: cold-hammer-forged barrels with match-grade bore concentricity, a full-length aluminum bedding block that eliminates stock flex, and a robust dual-locking-lug bolt system that ensures repeatable lockup.
We also hand-test every barrel for concentricity before final assembly. These manufacturing standards are typically found only in custom rimfire builds costing significantly more. The T1x delivers that precision at a production-rifle price point.
Absolutely. All T1x barrels ship with factory 1/2×28 threading and include a thread protector. This is the industry-standard thread pitch for rimfire suppressors, so you can mount any .22 LR–rated can without additional gunsmithing.
The 350mm barrel length is particularly well-suited for suppressed shooting, as total system length remains compact and velocity stays subsonic with standard-pressure ammunition. We’ve tested the T1x extensively with leading rimfire suppressors—function and accuracy are unaffected.
