Tikka T3x Rifle – Precision Bolt-Action for Hunters & Target Shooters
The Tikka T3x is our next-generation bolt-action rifle platform, engineered for hunters and precision shooters who demand unwavering accuracy in the field and on the range. We built the T3x on decades of Finnish craftsmanship, refining every detail from the cold-hammer-forged barrel to the modular stock system.
Every T3x features our legendary smooth bolt operation, a crisp single-stage trigger adjustable from 2 to 4 pounds, and a free-floating barrel that delivers sub-MOA accuracy out of the box. The redesigned ejection port allows easier single-loading and scope mounting, while the modular synthetic stock accepts optional accessories for a truly personalized fit.
Whether you’re stalking elk in the backcountry, pursuing whitetail from a stand, or competing in long-range matches, the T3x adapts to your shooting style. We offer the T3x in over 20 chamberings including popular hunting rounds and precision cartridges like the 28 Nosler, 6.5 Creedmoor, .308 Winchester, and .300 Winchester Magnum.

- Single-stage adjustable trigger (2-4 lbs pull weight)
- Modular synthetic stock with interchangeable pistol grips and fore-ends

- Detachable box magazine (capacity varies by caliber)
Barrel & Action Engineering

At the heart of every Tikka T3x is our cold-hammer-forged barrel, manufactured at our facility in Finland using a process that work-hardens the steel and creates exceptionally consistent bore dimensions. We cut 5R rifling into each barrel—a profile that reduces fouling, extends barrel life, and improves bullet concentricity for tighter groups downrange.
The T3x action features three locking lugs that allow a short 70-degree bolt throw, making it faster to cycle than traditional two-lug designs while maintaining rock-solid lockup. We precision-machine every action from a single steel billet and subject it to rigorous quality control before final assembly.
Modular Stock System & Ergonomics

We designed the T3x stock system to adapt to different shooting disciplines and body types without requiring custom work. The stock features an asymmetrical pistol grip with a wider palm swell, textured grip surfaces for positive control in wet conditions, and a vertical grip angle that promotes natural wrist alignment.
Interchangeable Components
The modular fore-end accepts optional widths for competition shooting or hunting configurations. You can swap pistol grips to adjust length of pull and grip angle, and add adjustable cheek risers for perfect scope alignment. All components attach with standard hardware—no gunsmithing required.
Magazine & Feeding System

The T3x uses a detachable box magazine system that varies in capacity based on cartridge size—standard calibers typically hold 3+1 rounds, while magnum chamberings hold 2+1. We designed the single-stack magazine to be exceptionally reliable, with a steel body and polymer follower that feeds smoothly even when loaded to capacity.
Our improved ejection port on the T3x is wider than the previous T3 model, allowing you to single-load rounds directly into the chamber for handloaders who want to seat bullets long for precision work. The magazine release is positioned just forward of the trigger guard for ambidextrous operation.

Common Questions About the Tikka T3x
While we don’t print a specific guarantee, our quality control process ensures that every T3x we ship is capable of sub-MOA accuracy with quality ammunition. Most shooters report groups between 0.5 and 0.75 inches at 100 yards with match-grade ammo.
We test-fire every rifle at our factory before it leaves Finland. If your T3x doesn’t meet your accuracy expectations, contact our customer service team—we stand behind every rifle we build.
Yes, the T3x trigger is user-adjustable from 2 to 4 pounds using a 3mm hex key. The adjustment screw is located in the trigger housing—turning it clockwise increases pull weight, counterclockwise decreases it.
We provide detailed instructions in the owner’s manual. Make small adjustments and test with snap caps to ensure the trigger functions safely at your desired weight. If you’re uncomfortable making adjustments, any qualified gunsmith can perform this service.
The T3x receiver features an integral 17mm dovetail rail that accepts Tikka Optilock rings directly—no separate bases required. This system is exceptionally rigid and positions the scope lower for better cheek weld.
You can also install Picatinny rail systems if you prefer standard rings. We offer a Tikka-branded 0 MOA rail, and aftermarket manufacturers produce 20 MOA rails for long-range shooting. The wide ejection port provides ample clearance for large objective lenses.
Yes, we manufacture left-handed versions of the T3x in popular calibers including .223 Remington, .243 Winchester, .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, .30-06 Springfield, 7mm Remington Magnum, and .300 Winchester Magnum.
Left-handed models feature a mirror-image bolt, ejection port on the left side, and safety positioned for left-hand operation. All other specifications match the right-handed rifles. Check with your dealer for current left-handed availability in specific chamberings.
The 28 Nosler is one of our most popular magnum chamberings, delivering 3,200+ fps with 160-175 grain bullets. The T3x action length and magazine are perfectly suited to the 28 Nosler case, and our cold-hammer-forged barrel handles the high pressures and temperatures without issue.
Shooters report excellent accuracy with this chambering—typically 0.5 to 0.8 MOA with quality ammunition. The synthetic stock and recoil pad manage the substantial recoil well. We recommend our stainless steel barrel option for shooters in humid climates, as magnum cartridges can accelerate corrosion.
Standard T3x models with barrels 20 inches and longer are threaded 5/8-24 TPI (common U.S. thread pitch). Some European models use M15x1 metric threading.
The barrel extends approximately 0.5 inches beyond the stock fore-end, providing adequate clearance for most suppressors and muzzle devices. We include a thread protector with every threaded barrel. Always verify headspace and concentricity when installing a suppressor—most manufacturers recommend professional installation.
Choose based on your primary use: the T3x Lite is ideal for hunters who cover long distances on foot and need to minimize weight. The standard T3x offers the best balance of weight and stability for general hunting. The T3x Hunter features attractive walnut for shooters who prefer traditional aesthetics.
For precision shooting and competition, consider the T3x Varmint with its heavy barrel, or the T3x TAC A1 chassis rifle. The T3x Compact works well for youth shooters or adults with shorter arms. All models share the same action and trigger—the differences are primarily in stock design and barrel profile.
